Yendi

Jamaica, known for its beautiful sunshine, and crisp clean aqua water, housed Yendi until she was 10 years old. Originally born in Manhattan, New York, her native Jamaican mother moved back to the island until Yendi was 10. Realizing that her daughter had real talent, Yendi’s mother moved the family to Fort Lauderdale, Florida trying to enable Yendi to attend the prestigious Julliard School. Though the original plan of Julliard did not come to fruition it did not stop Yendi’s path, in fact, it shaped it. Music became Yendi’s best friend at age six and they have been together ever since.

Yendi and her family traveled a lot; one stop was in the city of brotherly love Philadelphia where she became apart of a gospel group at age 12. The group of four was equally split. Yendi and one other group member wanted to share their talent with the world. The other two were blind to the vision. After that Yendi was signed to Luke Records at 16. Unfortunately she was signed at the same time Luke was in and out of court and Yendi, along with several other artists, suffered for it.

Never to be swayed, Yendi has reemerged and her music is better then ever. The therapy of her best friend’s encouraging words graze across her spirit, and speak to her. He tells her all will be well and she can overcome her tribulations. Yendi can speak to her best friend about the man in her life and tell him bluntly how she wants her man to take her to the floor. On the sultry track “2.4.7,” she explains vividly, candidly, with no holds barred, how perfect she is thus needs her man to be. Her best friend understands.

Yendi’s ultimate goal is to expand her career into all facets of entertainment. She will not be confined. She writes with the heart of a woman, she sings with the soul of an angel, and her productions heartbeat is hip-hop. She makes music, not R&B, not pop, not rap, no titles, just…music. When she’s singing it’s like she’s making love to the notes and getting playful bruises from the strings. Her palms are sweaty, nose a little puffed, heart beating a mile a minute, and the orgasmic ride climaxes at the very last breath. She’s had practice, watch her moves.
