about Troy Dean
Troy Dean is ready to take his place in the pantheon of singer/songwriters with the likes of John Mayer and Josh Kelley.
The Allentown, PA native grew up in a musical home courtesy of his mother and grandparents. “My mother taught me how to sing,†he explains. She was a lead singer in a band for many years. “She helped me out a lot with vocal lessons and since then I have been writing and playing.â€Â
His grandparents took him to shows at the historic Grand Ole Opry in Opryland many times and exposed him to many classic artists at home through their record collection. “All they listened to was Elvis [Presley] and other great musicians.â€Â
Dean’s songs all convey a personal story fueled by a lot of emotion. “If it’s a song that’s sad, people can cry to it,†he says. “If it’s a happy song, it puts smiles on their faces.â€Â
“Fans can relate to the lyrics,†he continues, “and the stories I tell.†His lyrical content focuses mainly on personal, romantic relationships but he’s beginning to branch out into other areas. He wrote “Jewell†and “Too Far Away†in memory of his grandmother who passed away in 1995.
Dean has toured extensively throughout New York, Pennsylvania and Tennessee and performed in a live showcase on Fox 5 News. He has also made numerous live appearances on 90.3 FM radio in Pennsylvania.
Troy Dean is currently working on his debut album.
