about The Short Sistars
The Short Sistars who have all been classically trained, sing regularly at Public Concerts, Charity Concerts, Church events, Street Busking and in Shopping Centres in Tauranga and Auckland, receiving high acclaim for their talent.
Their first time of singing together publicly, was at the steps the New Zealand Parliament in November 2003, followed by an original song recorded and played to the Health Select Committee in February 2004 (this tear-wrenching rendition was aired on TV News and National Radio). This was as a result of our family’s Petition of 125,000 signatures to Parliament, calling for an expansion of the Breast Screening Programme from the previous 50 – 64 years – and now 45 – 69 years as a result of this Petition. Their Mum (Debbie) was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2001 – after surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and ongoing treatment she is now a 7 year Cancer Survivor!
From 2005 they started singing in public as The Short Sistars, in 2006 sung in the inaugural "Christmas in the Bay" and in 2007 while busking in Auckland we were invited to sing on the TV1 Breakfast Show on Television New Zealand.
The Short Sistars are now singing original songs to add to their repoitre.
