about terrychilders

i guess i've been doing this sort of thing for 11 years, as a writer/singer/guitarist, and in the last 3 years i have gone further and further electronic as the technology got cheaper. thats right, i'm not frugal or a smart shopper, im a cheapass. if you have lived in the following places, you may have seen or heard me: houston, tx new york, ny, ann-arbor/detroit, mi, louisville, ky, clarksburg/lost creek/fairmont/morgantown/salem, wv, asheville, nc, wilkes-barre/scranton/plymouth, pa. it takes a lot of hard working people to make this much noise.

jenny the rippers review of terrychilders

posted April 25th at 10:51am

Terry Childers is a music-warping, synth-melting extraordinaire. His songs go to every extreme from earthy, dark and melodic “In The Arms Of Dionysus” to pop-rocky ba bada ba ba ba dada's in “The Replacement” to zany and spacey in “The Future”. I think his muse comes from a galaxy far, far away. Even his classic rock style groove songs have the feel of a fresh sound hunting voyage on a small ship with stars whizzing past the little windows. I would know, Terry took me out on an excursion once in his spaceship lovingly named, The Kathole Hologram Baby. We landed on a clear planet and Terry was given some futuristic musical equipment from the native aliens in exchange for some essence of cool, which was actually just Terry's sweat, but the aliens love it. We returned back to earth safely and Terry began toiling away with his new toys to create yet another masterpiece. At Rippyfest we have been very excited to have a diverse talent like Terry Childers on our site. We all dig his music with synthy buzzing, beeps and whirs over a back drop of beatnick rythyms. On the other hand, Terry is never afraid of just picking up an acoustic guitar, singing great lyrics and going organic. If you're ready for something new, check out the music of Terry Childers, master of sounds that have never been heard before. By Jennifer Molder
