Following in the footsteps of Brigadier Jerry, she entered and won several talent contests in both Jamaica and New York. She was soon recognized as a force to be reckoned with thus being offered an opening slot for one of Jamaica's finest vocal trios—The Meditations. This opportunity opened the door for her to record her first two records, "Liberation for Africa" and "Black Cinderella." A seen and heard in her music, Sister Carol has been a champion and powerful voice for women world wide, especially the African and Rasta Woman. As she says in her song 'WOMB-MAN' on her 1999 Tuff Gong Release ISIS— "But I say all is vexation of spirit and vanity. My nubian sisters embrace your Africanity, Chat bout…." She constantly reminds her audience on stage and on record that " The Woman is half of Jah creation. Woman nuh fi weak neither fragile. A she give birth unto the child. Woman is like the Earth, a tree with the roots. Just like the soil she will bear the fruits. Woman should be loved and also respected. Woman should be credited for what she has created." As in the song 'RASTA GIRL' she says "You cannot fight, dispute or refuse the truth, cause it will make an impact on the youth. Don't bother to treat us inhuman. All because we are only woman, yuh see" "I nurse all the youths and build up dem bones, But now I mostly use them in the comfort zone. I cannot respect fe yuh one-way zone. So I'm saying no to too much testosterone. You could not survive this all on yuh own…. I don't think so… You need a woman as a solid backbone. "A Rasta girl. That's what you want! Aside from her Music career, Sister Carol is a Teacher, Mother and has also been cast in several movies. She is a solid champion and promoter of our culture!
