about Elizabeth Edwards
Award winning singer/songwriter, Elizabeth Edwards is known for her graceful melodic style, her rich lyrics and beautiful vocals. As a native daughter of rural Northern California and the middle child of a large musical family, she has been singing, playing the guitar and constructing her own songs since she was thirteen years old. As her musical talent grew, Edwards was influenced by the many talented singer/songwriters of the seventies including Carole King, Judy Collins, Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell. In more recent years she has been inspired by the work of Tracey Chapman and Mary Chapin Carpenter.
Edward's smooth, earthy voice and heartfelt lyrics take listeners on a journey to the soul. Her lyrics have been called, empowering, and refreshing and her voice touches your soulĀ.
Edwards opened for the late Dan Fogelberg on multiple occasions; she has opened for songwriting legend Jesse Colin Young and twelve-step comedian Mark Lundholm. She has performed at the world famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and many other coffeehouses and songwriter haunts such as, Eddies Attic in Decatur Georgia and Camel Barn Museum Coffeehouse Concert Series and the Musicians Coffeehouse. She has toured several college campuses across the country where she has often conducted songwriting workshops by day and entertained audiences with beautiful songs of hope and faith at evening concerts.
The State of California Arts Council granted Edwards an Artist in Residence grant where she taught songwriting at Liberty High School in Benicia, Calif.
Edwards has been the recipient of the Readers Choice Award/Best Musician in Solano County. She won the Best Song Award from the Northern California Songwriters Association for her song "Paper Thin, Paper Doll" and was chosen from over seven hundred women who auditioned for the Lillith Fairs talent search hosted by Bill Graham Presents and Alice Radio 97.3 in San Francisco.
Elizabeth is currently involved in the recording industry on many levels and is working on her fourth recording project of original songs.

Her album Second Wind is absolutely great. What a voice and what a songwriter. Count me as her newest fan from down here in Texas.
