about Lost Cause Demos
Just started recording again!
Will be doing a lot of covers, a lot.
And some of my own material as I get more time between work, life, and school. Also, I'll eventually pull a band out of my ass, somehow.
My sound is heavily influenced by punk and metal, with a touch of southern. To put it briefly: a heavy crisp distortion with lots of harmonies and melodies, flurries of octave chords will often lace a second guitar track that's backing up the rhythm with various palm-muted galloping 3rd bar chords, and usually snazzy leads to fill in the mix.
However.
All recordings as of now will not be of the best quality. I'm doing the best I can with free editing software (Audacity) and a male to male mp3 cord from my laptop to my amp, using the direct input instead of an actual microphone. For a semi-decent recording, I have to turn the amp's channel volume way down (losing a lot of the crisp in distortion, and a lot of gain) for it sound even a little audible. Even then I have to go back and re-record and edit the song by compressing, amplifying, filtering out the clips and static, etc.
My current rig is a beat up, old 7 string Ibanez AX220 guitar I got from a used music store when I was 16.
I'm using it with a Line 6 Spider III head with a 4x12 speaker cab. Until I can afford better.
