about Mcy D
Mcy D was born as Micheal DeBrowo in Saint Auggustine, Florida on July 22, 1983. He took an intrest in music very early. His parents were fans of the blues and when little Mcy D asked for a guitar on his 8th birthday they bought it in a heart beat. At age 9 he was inrolled in guitar lessons. Even though he had a love for blues, he wanted to play this new music he loved called grunge. Grunge was his pasion until the tragic end of Kurt Cobain, then he found a CD called Dreamatorium by Death Cube K. He then discovered that Death Cube K was really a band consisting of a guy named Buckethead. Buckethead was his hero and made Mcy look at preforming in a new way.
Then in 1999 he heard a album that inspired him. His best friend Tucker(T;now a rapper, appears on 1st Mcy D album next year.) brought 2 albums over. Both of them were rap-rock albums so Mcy didn't think he'd like them but Tuck proved him wrong! 1st he played Kid Rock's Devil Without A Cause. He thought it was ok, but when he put on Rage Against The Machine's Battle of Los Angeles he was blown away by Tom Morello. And with that they started their own rap-rock band. The band lasted 'til 2003 when Tucker moved to Detroit. There he met a rapper named Reeze Piecez who would later hook Mcy with a indie label his friend Keith Amrus was starting. In 2004 Mcy wanted to start a new band. The rap-rock era had deminished so he dicided to create an experimental group, like Buckethead. Soon he had himself on guitar(Now he was calling himself Mcy D and was wearing happy meals on his head),Block-Head(Jon Davison) on bass, and Yella-Bella(Blaze Lancaster) on drums but Mcy still needed a singer. After talking to Tucker, Mcy decided to move to Detroit. With in hours of arriving in Detroit, Mcy went to go see this rapper Tucker couldn't stop talking about. With Tucker's friend Reeze rounding out the band, they went out to conquer the world. For 3 years(2005-late 2007) they played non-stop,but life on the road was to much for Yella and he settled in the Flint area. Reeze also was tired of rock music and dicided he was going to record an old school hip-hop album(Also Coming Soon on Amrus Records). With this Mcy and Block-Head started packing their bags, but before they left Reeze suggested that Mcy leave an instrumental demo tape he made at his friend Keith's house. When they made it back to Saint Augustine they found out they had been signed on to Amrus's indepenent record label. In May of 2008 he went to start recording his debut album. The album was delayed do to the formation of a back-up band and recording an EP to attact people to his music. The actual recording didn't start 'til September of 2008 and no info has been given about it as of yet.
