about MDESTINY
Well I guess and perhaps assume you’re interested. So instead of luring you into a detailed Bio right away, I thought I would explain each track as not all songs are genre specific. This way if you choose the right one your player will not blow up.
CLOUD 9:
This instrumental drum theme originally was captured while doing a sound check in my studio; my son is playing the drums. I liked it so much that I decided to add a synth background. That poet is Naughty Lil Syn who does the spoken word and the bass is by none other then Igor Ciotta whom is well known in Italy. I just added the guitar in the beginning to fill up some room.
DO YOU HAVE A REASON:
This is almost rockabilly with some Jazz chords. I play the guitar, bass and drums on it. This song was a revival of an older live version I did with my band M Destiny. My niece Joni Simon will lay vocals on it soon. It’s up tempo and quirky.
I HAVE COME:
This song is one of my personal favorites. It started out as an instrumental but vocals would be a nice touch. I play guitar, drums, strings and Bob Turner does a fantastic job on bass. The middle section has a killer melody that just seems to scream I HAVE COME!
SHOE STRING THING:
This is a down and dirty blues with slide guitar. The song has five guitar parts in total with three main guitar licks, one acoustic and one lead. Vocals and lyrics completed but not added in this version. The guitar lead is out there in deep space and worthy of a listen.
ELEVATOR BLUES:
This song came about when testing out my new studio. Its kind on a kick butt bar tune but instead turned out to be more of something that would be played in an elevator. Has a cheesy sax synth that I am not ashamed of.
FINGER LICKING GOOD:
This is a blues finger picking instrumental. Guitar, bass and drums simplicity and the recording is so fine you can hear the detail of my fingers hitting the strings. The bass is rich in tone and melody while the drums are straight and unchanging. This song seems to be popular with people who like finger picking blues.
GIVE ME SOMETHING NEW:
A vocal tune without vocals. The acoustic guitar has a nice tone and played in a measure of 9. The song gets heavy rock after that point and repeats with a slight harmonic break, then repeats again. Vocals and lyrics completed but not added in this version.
TRIBAL MOON:
We all save the best for last if you like instrumentals. I created this song with the bass line first then added everything else to taste. It has a jazz rock feel but carries a unique layer of strings that clime and a cool hard rhythm guitar.
“Ron is a renowned player. His habit throughout his life sustains a persona unrestrained by natural means. His area of expertise, though hard to identify becomes lucid and pragmatic. Approach with fervor and you may gain access.”
We had some radio play, did a CD and were on a local TV show. A few years went by and I came up with new material. My niece and I hooked up. This was a great time in my life. We called ourselves RAVENSONG. (Joni Simon) She sang and I played acoustic guitar. Played mostly coffee houses and found many talented artists along the way. I think I wrote my best material here. We started to get a following and once were invited and played a stage in Camden NJ of 6 thousand. This unfortunately ended when I took on a great paying job that required me to travel. She may have never forgiven me for that decision. A few more years went by. I was approached to do music for a Si fi animation. A year went by. I was asked to do music for an independent horror film LUNICIDAL. Two years went by. I was nominated for Best Original Music Score at the Terror Film Festival in Philadelphia for LUNICIDAL. Now a studio owner and composer looking for my next adventure.
Casey’s letter
Words can not describe.
“Hey Ron, first off I gotta say, I am blown the fuck away. I just heard the Ravensong album and I am at a loss for words. I could put all the most beautiful words and all the curse words together and wouldn't be able to describe how I feel right now. My hands are still shaking. Everything indicated and was amazing. Your guitar work was absolutely brilliant. So right and smooth and communicative. And Joni's voice... I am fucking overwhelmed. I believed every word and felt every message. The edge and beauty in her voice. I am you and Joni's # 1 fan. I am so really overpowered right now with emotions. I can't believe the talent in this family. I am determined to be around that and want to hear everything old and new dude I can't believe it! I am so on a high right now. I am so impressed and I wanted to thank you for the amazing experience and I hope it never dies. I love you bro and can't wait to see you all soon. Simply incredible. My favorite vocal and guitar combo was “into the rain" thus far but I must listen to it all several times. I love it man. Keep it up.”
