Gerardo as a musician plays guitar, bass, keyboards, bamboo flutes and nose flutes, kalimba, tar, bendir, bata, nal, caxixi, udu, shakers, rattles, rainsticks, fahringer, bells, gongs, African talking drum, electric drum set, marimba, baliphone, vocals and is also a writer of songs and lyrics. Gerardo Maza as a producer also works in graphic design, web design and sound restoration along side his work recording, mixing and mastering music.

WARRIORS ON THE EDGE

The Challenge of our world is to learn how to live together in peace. Every single person is unique, yet with all the differences between us, such as our situation, condition, opinion and our likes and dislikes we are all more alike than different. Yet most of us are still in the process of discovering who we are and I am not talking about personality or who we think we are. It is helpful to let go of seeing each other through the eyes of fear and stereotypes of race, religion, sex, status and ideas of good and bad. In my art as a composer/multi instrumentalist I strive or should I say aspire to move beyond the limitations of our conventional society and any specific category or genre. Creation happens in a time/space beyond the ordinary trials of daily life a transcendent and sacred place, a place where our love and suffering become the music of the spheres. I hope to touch and inspire the open mind, with wonder like that of a child. Music is one of the ways I connect to the truth, may it be true to you.
