about Mary Anne Bennick
Since I can remember, music has been the language I understood in order to communicate the world around me. It fed my soul and nurtured a growing creativity, and since childhood it has remained an intimate center of my life. Although I left the classical world of piano at the ripe age of 15, I knew my relationship with it was far from over and since then improvisation has emerged as my preferred style of playing. With each new composition, I look to the moment and its emotional expression to speak on the keys, inspiring new songs or even new ways of composing old themes. It is in the spirit of nature itself, being ever changing though constant in its change, that I find comfort and beauty in improvisational piano.
