Music has always been at the creative center of my life. And although I left classical piano at fifteen, I knew my relationship with it was far from over. Since then, improvisation has emerged as my preferred style. Playing improvisational piano releases my instinct of imagination and I find myself relying heavily on the momentum of letting go to discover raw emotion, new compositions and new themes for old songs. Playing in this way helps me to connect with the dichotomy of nature being ever changing though constant in its change. I find a great deal of allure and comfort in that. Giving in to harmony, discord and the silence in between is the most natural challenge I know.
