Luna Sopor is an original high energy Rock Band from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Luna Sopor began as the brainchild of Jeff Janow and Troy Szabo while working together in 2008. Jeff and Troy wanted to create a Rock Band that played driving original music, and also allowed them to combine different playing styles which are derivative of their past and modern rock influences. Shortly thereafter, Marie Szabo joined Luna Sopor as the Band’s Drummer, and Jeff, Troy, and Marie started writing songs and rehearsing together. The music continued to develop going forward, and in 2009 Luna Sopor started looking for a Rock influenced Female Singer that would augment their music and complete the Band’s Lineup. It turned out to be a long and arduous search to find a Female Lead Singer that was a good fit for Luna Sopor. In late 2010, a colleague that previously worked with Jeff and Troy suggested that they post their “Singer Wanted” ads in the Music Department at the University of Santa Clara. Just before Christmas break of 2010, Jeff was in the Music Department posting the Band’s ad when he overheard Amber Sommerfeld singing an operatic melody. Jeff approached Amber and told her about Luna Sopor’s search for a Singer. Amber started singing for Luna Sopor after Christmas Break, and Luna Sopor has been writing, recording, and performing together ever since…
