about Lucky Day
Lucky Day forges a fresh pop/rock sound without ignoring the melodic echoes of the past as The Washington Post put it, "some of the best pop-rock the 60s never heard."
Bursting onto the scene in summer 2005, Lucky Day's blend of urgent hooks, ethereal vocals, and crunchy guitars has already earned them coveted performances at various Spring and Summer festivals as well as notables venues such as The Knitting Factory (NYC), Starr Hill Music Hall (Charlottesville, VA), The Black Cat (Washington, DC), and Mr. Smalls Theatre (Pittsburgh, PA). They have also been honored to play U.S.O. events. Most recently, Nashville-based Double D Records selected Lucky Day to record a track for their Superdrag Tribute album, to be released internationally this spring.
Advance copies of the EP garnered praise from music enthusiasts, DJs, and reviewers alike. In addition to positive reviews, Z104 and DC101 spun Rainy Days, the single from All My Rainy Days, and the bands songs have been broadcasted on several other radio stations and podcasts around the country.
To learn more about the band, hear songs from the new EP, view upcoming tour dates, or purchase "All My Rainy Days," please take a look around this site. As the Washington City Paper proclaims, "Listening to the bands songs will add to anyones good fortune."
