about FUNMI SHITTU
It is somewhat unusual to be raised a Moslem by two devout Muslim parents, and to find oneself, at the age of 17, singing, viscerally, in the Church. Thus began my intimacy with God, and through my singing talent, the source of which I’ve always strived to comprehend to no discernible conclusion, I have, ever since, been singing His praises and evangelising His ministry. I repeatedly asked my mother where I got my singing talent from, and each time, she was nonplussed. This led me to the conclusion that it was from God and that He needed me for His glory.
My love of singing did not stop me from pursuing my academic career, and with the help of God, I managed to obtain an LLB (Bachelor of Law) from the University of Kent, which was then followed by an LLM in Oil and Gas Law in Aberdeen University Scotland. It was after graduating in the latter that God gave the inspiration for “Without Your Love” and “It’s Christmas”. He has also blessed me with two talented and indefatigable producers in the persons of Shabach (Steve) and Lightchild (Ayobami Soetan), without whom these songs would not have been produced. My heartfelt gratitude goes to them. Above all, I give total and absolute glory to the Almighty for finding me worthy to be a disciple of His cause.
Concepts and Goals:
The ideas behind these songs were to reach people who would not otherwise come to Church, and to encourage those who already do. “Without Your Love” is a song that anyone can relate to and identify with.
God bless you as you proclaim His glory and unending love.
