I've been into music all my life . . . I've been playing some sort of instrument since I was about 9 years old (in 4th grade). That's when I first picked up a Cello, which wasn't too bad. I stuck with it in 5th grade and added on some Classical Piano. In 6th grade I traded in my strings for a Clarinet with the intent of one day playing the Sax, at that time I had begun to play a little Jazz Piano and liked the idea of playing the Blues on a Sax. In 7th Grade I once again did a two year thing with the Clarinet, as I started to get tired of Band.
Half way through the year I also dropped the Piano lessons and began to continue playing and teaching myself. I played a little bit of Jazz and Blues, and some lingering Classical. But, I had become tired of music with classical roots, and went straight for the Rocker image as I bought my first electric string instrument, an Electric Bass Guitar. MAN WAS I GOOD . . .
. . . JUST KIDDING!!! I had fun being in about 2 or 3 bands over the course of two years until I finally picked up an Electric Guitar during the summer between 8th and 9th Grade.
That is where I currently find myself today. I'll have been playing Electric Guitar for a year when summer comes around and have taught myself EVERYTHING I know (which I'm VERY proud of)! I actually began developing a softer, more island-like style of rock shortly after I started playing. I began writing my own music back around late November, and I can say I haven't stopped since.
Music is MY LIFE. It's what I love to do. And I've already decided I'm going to make a career out of Live Music Performance. Being able/ having the means to pursue such an incredible dream is AMAZING! Music has influenced EVERYTHING I do (to the point where I have to rock out when I brush my teeth : ) !!!
Well that's pretty much my pathetic, puny story, but, I like to think of it as the life of a rising star . . . I HOPE!
