about The Missiles
We are a 3 piece rock band based near Derby. Band members are, Bob Wyllie on lead guitar, Gary Murgatroyd on the bass and John Barker on the drums.
We originally formed to celebrate, shall we just say a significant birthday for Bob in the February of 2007. Bob had over the years played in a number of bands, but wanted to rekindle some of that magic at his birthday. But as he said, this time playing what he wanted, 70's Rock and not that "poppy pappy stuff" which he had to endure in his previous bands .
As a result of Bobs birthday gig where we played 6 numbers. The Missiles have been asked to play at a number of parties and events and we now have in our locker around 35-40 numbers that we play, and still increasing. We still however include the original 6 numbers in our set, as the reason we picked them in the first place was simply because they were "timeless rock classics".
We are available for all ocassions Parties, Weddings, (ok at this stage we have to say it) Bar-Mitzvas, pub gigs, beer and music festival gigs or just general get togethers. Our rates are incredibly good value. Hey we even sometimes bring our own crowd.
