about You Said Saturday:
Arrival
Brooding with boyish charm, You Said Saturday brings together three moody up swingers who effortlessly blur the lines between age-old indie aesthetics and mainstream appeal, landing somewhere alongside the Cocteau Twins- nostalgic for their decade before it was over.
The creation of songwriter/guitarist Peter Scott and his two comrades Joshua Young (vocals) and Travis Craig (Bass) blends intelligent and seductive rock music with a most pristine pop luster. The songs from the trios second album wrap around you like a warm blanket on a blustery day, giving props to Scotts production skills as well as famed mixer Joe Chiccarellis sonic glitter, also know for his work with Beck, U2 and the Shins.
the Back Story
The trio formed in the early part of 2005 in order to breathe life into Scotts recent creations. After some late night sessions around the kitchen table and some nitty gritty woodshedding in a dingy practice studio, the band emerged with the blueprint for their eponymous debut: yousaidsaturday.
You Said Saturday spent the rest of 2005 touring the West Coast, paying dues in dive bars and major music clubs alike, before both scant and abundant audiences. Scott, Young, and Craig- the heart and soul of You Said Saturday, took the stage with a revolving door of supporting musicians to bring the music to a live front. The groups sound is as honest and heartfelt as it gets.
