about kellinwatson:
Kellin Watson’s third release, “No Static,” is a soulful offering featuring Watson’s jazzy vocals and showcasing her fluid songwriting.
Here are four things you should know about Kellin Watson.

• Regional Acclaim. Watson’s 2003 debut album, “Paper Bird,” was named one of the top 100 nationally released albums of 2003 by listener supported WNCW, and was chosen as one of the top 12 finalists in the Independent Music World Series Contest for 2003. As if that wasn’t enough, Watson’s title track Paper Bird was featured on many different nationally released compilation albums, and independent films.
• National Notoriety. Watson’s second release, which was a live album put out in 2005, included a song called Everybody Says. In 2007 that very song landed her a spot as one of the top two finalists from North Carolina to open for Award Winning Sara Evans in Asheville NC. Being featured on CMT’s, ‘Big Break’ this past year marked Watson’s first official national television debut. Watson was also featured on a show shot for HD-TV network called Studio South in 2007.
• Networking. Watson has shared the stage with, and opened for such national acts as, Jessica Simpson, Amos Lee, The Duhks, and Veinna Teng to name a few. Watson also made a friend in Smashing Pumpkins frontman, Billy Corgan this past summer after he caught one of her sets at The Biltmore Estate in Asheville NC.
• She has a plan. At the moment she’s focused on advancing her music career and is set on finding a booking agent. In the meantime, understanding that most agents want acts that already have a large fan base, she’s working the phones herself to set up a tour to promote her stellar new album, No Static. A promotional spot on SIRIUS satellite radio is scheduled for March 12th in New York, along with a slew of other dates she has lined up in the area.

Other Credits: Vocalists for Producer Richard Ashe’s Dreamer and The Dragonfly, released in 2003, and his second release, Moon Child, released in 2004. WNCW’s Crowd around the mic. Volume 9. Toured the east coast at venues such as, The Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, in Asheville NC, The Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte NC, The Lions Den in NYC, Carson Newman College in Jefferson City TN, Montreat College, UNC-Asheville, East Carolina University, Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta Ga. Headlined POP-Asheville, 2007 etc.
