Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Kevin Atwood is anything but the stereotypical musician.
In high school he built a small, random tone synthesizer for his grade ten music project. This was constructed from a little Radio Shack amplifier circuit board and surplus electronic parts retrieved from old televisions.
In the mid 1970's, he and two other friends put together a music group called "Paralandra". It started out as an avant-garde ensemble and later morphed into a progressive art rock band thanks to the influence of the music of Yes, Genesis, Vangelis and Mike Oldfield. Kevin has also written music for a variety of modern dance choreographers in his home town Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
His premiere CD, “Blessed Be” was the first large music project where Kevin played all the instruments on the CD (including electric and acoustic guitars, electric bass, keyboards, drum programming).
His second CD, “Butterflies” has recently been released. It is an original instrumental project written, performed, mixed and produced entirely by Kevin.
This CD features thematic electric and acoustic guitars, backed by a wall of optimistic, positive sounds.
