about Cathy McGill
Cathryn McGill is a singer/songwriter who grew up singing in the church. From those solid roots, she has created a vocal style that is uniquely her own--often described as "gospel-cooked jazz and blues". Her voice reminds you of the clarity of Dinah Washington and the emotion of Billie Holiday and Etta James. Her songwriting is classic and she has been influenced by the great storytelling of award-winning songwriters like Bonnie Raitt, John Mayer, Dr. John, Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson to name a few. Eclectic, yet accessible. Entertaining and so much more. Ms. McGill is an inspiration.
