How to Bring More Traffic to Your JBA Profile and Make More Friends
The more friends you make on JukeboxAlive, the more you'll benefit from the unique music sharing and social networking community. If you're an artist, the more friends you have, the more people will be listening to your music, reading your blog, watching your montages, and hopefully sharing your profile (and music) with their friends. To add more friends, you need to first work on getting more traffic to your profile. Once they're there, keep visitors interested enough in your profile that they'll look around and add you as a friend. Here's how:
1. Choose a great profile picture. You'll see from a brief scan of new members on the homepage that profile photos vary greatly, so it doesn't matter what your picture is, just make sure it's clear and bright. Keep in mind that most JBA members are music fans and artists, so creativity is encouraged. I recently saw a profile on the homepage with an eye catching photo that I just couldn't help myself from clicking on. The profile photo was of.... a vacuum. I mean, doesn't that make you curious about who was on the other end of that profile? I know it worked for me.
2. Comment on other members' profiles. Make comments that are relevant, thoughtful, and funny... don't just make comments for publicity's sake. If visitors see your comments and like them or are interested in your photo, all they have to do is click on your photo or your username, and they're on your profile page! The more comments you make on different members' profiles, the more likely it is that this will happen.
3. Post on artist and event profiles. If someone sees you're interested in the same artist they are or are attending/attended the same event, they'll be more likely to visit your profile and add you as a friend.
4. Finally, request friends freely. The more friends you have, the more you'll make... the Law of Attraction works on JukeboxAlive, too! Making your way into a circle of friends is a great way to quickly increase traffic to your profile. For example: You make a new friend and request the friendship of someone who has posted on this new friend's wall. Once you're friends with the poster, request the friendship of someone who posted on their wall. And so on.
