about BiggMann

Jermaine Thompson a.k.a Biggmann was born in Brooklyn, New York. Moving to Atlanta, Georgia at a young age, it was then where Biggmann got his start as a writer. At the age of 9, he won a national poetry contest, in addition to having 2 poems published.

Relocating to Cincinnati, Ohio, Biggmann hooked up with a camp of local hip-hop d.j.’s and was used as a Master of Ceremony keeping the crowd entertained with a mix of humor and intelligence, that was parelled only by his gripping poetry that he shared with the crowd. One day, while rehearsing some poetry for an upcoming show, a d.j. began playing a hip-hop instrumental, it was then the M.C. know as “Biggmann” was born.

The name “Biggmann” was chosen as a play on his size, he is 6’2” and an athletic 325 lbs.

Biggmann is not your typical M.C. by today’s standard. Although Biggmann knows “street life” first hand, he chose a different path. Biggmann has 2 college degrees, has managed a 7 figure medical facility, and scored in the top 25 of the LSAT ( Law School Entrance Exam) minority test takers in the country. But, music has always been his first love. Biggmann helped bring in extra money for his family by playing a keyboard during the lunch period at his school.

Biggmann is also an aspiring music producer. He wrote and produced the first single due to be released by Belinda Lipscomb of Midnight Star entitled “Alone in the Crowd”. Biggmann produces the vast majority of the tracks he performs on.

This writer, producer and hip-hop artist is also a father & a business owner. The release of his first album entitled “Make ‘Dem Know” gained him regional acclaim that allowed him to open for some of the biggest names in hip-hop. Biggmann has opened for the likes of 8-Ball & MJG, Queen Latifah, M.C. Lyte, Ice-T, Geto Boys, Patra & Wyclef Jean. On a sad note, Biggmann was one of the opening acts for the last show that Tupac Shakur ever performed in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Biggmann knows what it takes to be a professional in this industry. The release of his 2nd album entitled “Bloody Tears” is slated for early fall of 2006. Biggmann is a writer at heart who has even had a play that he wrote performed by the Cincinnati Arts Consortium. He is not afraid to tackle subjects otherwise seen as taboo’ in this industry. With that said, take cover, or you will be swept away by the “Ghetto Tsunami”.
