AG WEINBERGER - The Transylvanian Guitar Man
Bandleader, vocalist, producer and international Blues Ambassador, AGWeinberger is most arguably the very central figure in the Romanian Blues community. His touring band regularly plays to packed houses countrywide and has attracted rave reviews in rock, jazz and blues festival from USA, Hungary, Turkey, Germany and Israel.
Hailing from the fabled region of Transylvania, he stands six foot five and tips the scales at 255 pounds. This unforgettable Bluesman is a giant, in terms of his monumental efforts to popularize the Blues in Eastern Europe and in terms of his monumental stature and stage presence.
Since his entry into the Blues, he has shared the stage with Al DiMeola, John Mayall, Chick Corea and James âBloodâ Ulmer. As the only non-American peformer at the Bluestock National Blues Convention and Showcase in Memphis, in 1998, AG also shared the bill with Leon Russell, Son Seals, Little Milton and Hubert Sumlin
Beside his efforts in spreading the Blues in Romania, Mr. Weinberger wrote scores on 17 theatre plays for worldwide famous Romanian theatre companies
( L.S. Bulandra Theatre and The Romanian National Theatre).

In May 2000, AGWeinberger left Romania for a âcultural exile in the USAâ, as he likes to call it. Upon his arrival he got into the Chicago club circuit â worked for Son Seals, Laurie Bell, Pistol Pete, Chico Banks, Willie Kent & The Gents, etc. - then moved to NYC and performed in clubs such as Decade, Bitter End, Red Lion, Stone Pony etc. Finally he settled in Las Vegas where he worked in clubs and casinos. AGâs first American album was recorded at the beginning of 2005, in Nashville, TN and in Seattle, WA being produced by Tom Hambridge (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Johnny Winter, Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi, Delbert McClinton, Johnny Lang, etc.)
